Hello all 👋,

It's Sam Wood, the creator of Mepop! I'm thrilled to be moving into an exciting new phase of development for the platform, and it's all thanks to the ongoing support from users from around the world 🌎

Background

Four years ago, I started Mepop Reports. It began as a simple webpage, and soon after, it grew into a full-fledged web app. At the time, I had just been laid off and had to focus on other pressing life necessities, which meant putting my project on the back burner. But even as I mentally moved on, the app kept running, acquiring more and more users with little-to-none intervention or attention from me.

To be completely honest, I didn't expect to revisit Mepop. However, over the years, something kept pulling on me to come back. I kept receiving emails from users about bugs and issues that I had little desire to fix. I assumed that, by now or eventually, someone else would have built something bigger and better. Out of curiosity a few weeks ago, I decided to check in on how many people had signed up. What I saw was surprising. Not only had a solid group of users stuck around, but a quick Google search revealed that no one else had really filled this gap. It became clear to me that people needed this tool.

This realization sparked something in me. I decided it was time to revitalize the project, and pour more effort into it than I ever had before. The original aspirations I had for Mepop began to resurface, and now, I'm more committed than ever to growing the platform and its community.

Future Plans

So, what's next for Mepop? I've already started addressing bugs, and I've launched a Discord community where users can report issues and share ideas. I'm wide open to feedback, as my ultimate goal is to build a platform that truly serves Depop sellers. I want Mepop to be customizable, thorough, and adaptable to your needs.

Here's a look at some exciting development ideas I'm working on:

• 📈 Smart Listing Features: Compare your items to recent sales and get price suggestions based on real data.
• ♾️ Multi-Platform Integration: I hope to eventually expand Mepop beyond Depop to include platforms like Poshmark, Vinted, and Mercari.

There are many more ideas floating around in my mind, and I'm constantly in talks with real users to see what they need most.

Conclusion

Some of these plans are closer to reality than others, but they all point to a future where Mepop becomes a powerful tool for sellers. I'm thrilled to see where this journey takes us, and I'm grateful to all of you who have been a part of Mepop so far.
